Property Damage

Towne will take care of property damage, whether it's vandalism or the result of a vehicle hitting your home. We will board up openings and secure your property. We will sort through your contents and determine which items can be saved, and pack these items, clean them, and store them. We will list those items which are damaged beyond repair. Your insurance company will use this list to reimburse you for your loss.

If a vehicle has damaged your home or garage, we will check for damage which may not be readily visible such as a shift in the foundation. We will submit an itemized estimate using industry standard software to your insurance company describing what repairs are required, and we will work with you to repair the damage within the limits of your policy, including cleaning your contents, masonry repairs, siding, other structural repairs, painting and cleaning.
  • Secure property to prevent break-ins and theft
  • Cover openings to prevent weather-related damage
  • What do I do if my home has been vandalized?
  • Report the vandalism to the police and then to your insurance company. Call Towne to secure the property.

  • I have some valuable antiques. Will the insurance company pay enough for me to replace them or restore them?
  • Insurance policies generally have a limit on the amount they will pay for any particular item. If you have expensive jewelry, art work, professional equipment or antiques, you may need a floater (or rider) policy in addition to your standard homeowner policy. Your agent can advise you.

  • A drunk driver hit my house. Will the driver's insurance policy pay for the damage?
  • Generally, your policy will pay for the repairs, but your insurance company may decide to subrogate against the other insurance company.

  • The car hit the side of my house. How can I tell the extent of the damage?
  • Some of the damage may not be readily visible. For example, the force of the car hitting the home may cause cracks in the foundation. It may even shift the foundation itself or result in cracks in walls. These repairs require expertise.
